My toned down participation: a reason

To all those that this posting may concern.
Some of you may have noticed a considerable lack of "E Buzz-ness" on Zaadz lately. Then again, some of you may have not. For those who have, I have a reason. Maybe not a good one, but a reason none the less. I am not looking for support on this matter nor am I wishing to create a rift of any kind and I am not wanting to cast a negative cloud on anyone or any aspect of this site. If that happens, my humblest apologies in advance. I am merely stating what "I" feel at a personal level about what is affecting me personally here at Zaadz. These are issues that have created some discomfort and distaste for me for about a month now and it is to the point in me, where if some of this continues, I will leave. That is the correct action is it not? I am the with the problem(s), therefore I can be the only one to solve them. I just thought you all should at least know why if indeed these things continue in an unabated fashion. So what things do I speak of. Well I thought you would never ask. As I rattle off the issues, notice how I am not pointing fingers, naming names or acting self-righteous, although by this last statement, maybe I am a little. So be it. Here we go.
1) I find the massive amount of blanket e-mails that I get to be inpersonal, generic, unfelt, unwarranted, lazy and otherwise lackluster. I understand that many of you have issues about which you have a great passion or compassion. That is fine. We all do. I also realize that many of you would like to see this sudden euphoric involvement that rectifies the issue. In my opinion, that is unrealistic. In my philosophy, we may well be also denying karmic cycling. In my heart, Love is always the remedy no matter what form it comes in. From your viewpoint, the situation may seem desperate and hopeless. I do not ignore this possibility, but how much of my and my family's life should be put on hold to remedy your desperation. Should we voluntarily suffer for suffering sake? I realize that is an extreme question, but really, I am a very busy person and if you would just bother to look at and read my profile, you would see that. Then maybe you could personalize your situation(s) a little by writing me personally after seeing what I can offer and work within those quidelines. I will not change my family's hard-earned lifestyle drastically to better somebody else's. This collar is very blue, and I have scrapped for every plug nickel without ever taking advantage of any social programs available. That is about as personal a statement as I will offer on that issue. Again, I am not looking for support of my opinions, philosophy or social views. This is just a statement of how and why I am feeling about things affecting me at a personal level here at Zaadz.
2) Some of you have the idea maybe that I have an abundance of time, energy and possibly finances because of the amount of work I have put into my profiles, blog postings and pod postings. Sorry to give that illusion. My creative processes are nothing more than great acts of self deprival. I have a huge phobia of not completing something that I have started if I take a break from it. So I will work on a project, digital or otherwise, non-stop, without eating, drinking, sleeping and yes even using the restroom until the damn thing is finished! Now mind you, some of my music recording is the result of one and a half to up to three straight days of this unhealthy behavior. That is recording, re-recording, mixing, editing, re-mixing, producing, burning, printing, the whole schmear straight through. And I still give it all away for free! This is what I offer. My obsessive creative compassion for the arts and all of my torment that goes with it! Money? Bah!!! My money goes to my children and their education and interests. Something that my parents did not do for me. My children are the future. I am changing the world through them. Any one of you who have families and are parents know full well what I speak. Single, young and idealistic folks so rarely know the troubles and struggles to keep the sanctity of a Loving Family. To me, there has never been a greater blessing in my life. My treasure is with my Wife and beautiful Daughters. Want to get me hot? Ask me to deny them something! Work your ass off to get there like I have with passion and blind hunger to get there with no more goal than to have my family to want for nothing and then you know a mile in my sweat-filled work boots!
I ask again, not to have support on any of the above statements. It is merely my heart that I speak from. If what I write about resembles you or you or you, then wear it and move on. If you want me to know your troubles or loves, then do me the courtesy, and get to know mine and then write me personally instead of me and hundred plus others getting the same damn mail!

E Buzz. I hear you. We're aware of the blanket email issue and appreciate your frustration. Your voice is being heard.
Also, I certainly don't want you to be driving yourself into sickness. That's not what it's about. I love your creativity and I think you should take care of yourself. I'm glad you're here and I hope you keep on keepin on.
ugh…. I suspect I might fall into your category #2 even though my intentions were purely to break the ice and recognize your gifts. My apologize if I seemed impersonal.
I must say that I quite agree with you though, and I am hearing a lot of others say the same thing. Sugar coat it like I did, or call it what it is….. spam. Even though the spam might be “well intended” it is still spam. The Dalai Lama can not take my email address and begin sending me his latest philosophical theory unless I first subscribe to his newsletter or such. To do so would also be spam even though he is Mr. Enlightenment of the century. Imagine if every “guru” in the world had a “get out of calling it spam free” card. Our inboxes would go on strike.

trust me, as a long time denizen of cyberspace i deal with spam everyday. and that's from outside of Zaadz. as for the “spam” in Zaadz, i think that most of the messages are really well-intended and far from being malicious. the bigger issue is – and this is what i noticed that happen most of the time – a lot of the new members are, shall we say, new to cyberspace in general and social networking in particular. they've just discovered a new avenue for their expression. a lot of them are still not familiar with cyber etiquette. add to that, most of them are uber-eager to connect with people. so the unfortunate results are messages here and there. i know. i used to be like them too. it took me while to familiarize myself with the road rules. so i suggest that we put ourselves in their shoes for a while and imagine their excitement.
however, having said that, it's *not* an excuse for you Zaadz veterans to suffer from “spam” or any unsolicited messages. but understand that spam is a cyber-wide issue. we at Zaadz are working hard to work on solutions but we can only do so much. the other part of the equation is YOU. so while we at Zaadz are looking for ways to minimize unwanted messages, we've also provided you with tools so you can have more control of your messaging.

you've been in Zaadz long enough now to know that we do our best to walk our talk. i hope that the issue of “spam” won't deter you from moving forward with our collective vision. “spam” is freakin' annoying. but it's nothing compared with what we're here to do. and personally, “spam” is not gonna stop me from carrying on with my original intention. i hope it doesn't stop you too.

I feel exactly the same! I am no longer proud and happy to read my emails as they are not personal ones - taking away the new friendship invites I receive of course. And yes, this is exactly the point. You got it! Thanks for writing it down.
